Google has just released a new feature for google maps that allows for access to google earth from inside your web browser called the Google Earth API. This api can be used with current google maps to allow for a full 3D Google Maps experience. The new features require a plugin that is currently only compatible with Windows. Looks like this may allow for some even more interesting mashups.
